Sneakers: wear them to save interior space. Throw in a cheap pair of ‘ballet flats’. with decent soles My go-to ballet flats are allbirds.com.

Extra bra and underpants. In 3-5 minutes anyone can wash underwear. Save the space for socks and tuck them into edge spaces.

Little hotel amenity bottles labeled with volumes are a thing of the past. Save yours and refill with lotions. Measure as follows: 1. fill one bottle with , lets say, face moisturizer. Use contents for a week. Is there any left? Or not enough? Now you know how much you need. Lotions weigh; don’t over pack. Using hotel shampoo for a few nights will not permanently destroy hair. Bringing some of your own conditioner will help.

Travel electronics are heavy.  They are solid weight. Divide them up. Plus you will pass security faster, Have one item in carry on. Put the other in your ‘purse’. I usually pack a computer and pop the iPad in my hand bag: Longchamps is mine but rivals come from every company.

Definitely take more 2-3  adaptors. Adaptors can flicker and die. A charger cord shreds with age which is dangerous. Adaptors of the large square grounded type are heavier and easy to forget in the hotel outlet. So mix it up: some smaller and some the square type. The smaller will not be grounded; be careful during storms or in old hotels.

Heresy: yes I rip out guide book pages.

Yes I photo trip documents and keep them in a smart phone album.

Grounded plug from Amazon.com

Yes my bag is still heavy; but not as cumbersome as before. Travel Tips for Women from The Women’s Travel Group, award winning tours for women. Email us or call us! We are still booking Italian Lakes and Swiss Mountains for July and More in 2023.
