    Jerry Seinfeld and Dead Travel?

Jerry Seinfeld posted an Op Ed in the New York Times called “So You Think New York is ‘Dead’?. Travel is not dead either. Read on.   He disparages people who left New York for Florida. He is short on those who say they will live remotely.  He sees New York’s future through its energy, attitude and personality. He is the optimistic travelers should listen to.

How does this opinion piece translate to travel?

  • Women and Poor Travel Health Habits

We are not experts in travel health. However The Women’s Travel Group is a first-hand witness in how poorly women prepare for their travel health.

Packing and Shopping Excessively. Sure it feels good to have new travel clothes. Shopping tinge is a prelude to travel excitement. We say: avoid these splurges! New shoes are dangerous as you have not tested them on tired or swollen feet. New clothes take up the attention you should give to important documents and money.…

    Horror: The Airplane Bathrooms

No one likes to talk about horror of airplane bathrooms. Today that is one of the most talked about horrors. The airplane bathrooms are small and according to Bloomberg, they are getting smaller.  They feel airless. They are dirty after a long flight.  Soap, toilet paper and even water can be gone.  Some are so small that disabled women or larger women cannot use them. On some American flights, says Bloomberg, the bathroom is only 22.1 inches across at the passenger’s chest level when seated. .…

You should renew your Passport before getting close to 6 months pre expiration. Most countries require you to have 6 months left or immigration can deny your entrance.

Visa pages are just that: pages where foreign officials can stamp your passport, giving you entree to their country. This stamp is your visa to enter so make sure you get the actual stamp. This means you will have to concentrate after a long flight, but do it. On the way out, officials might look for your entry stamp!…

Boomer Women Want More from Travel

We are the first generation women who studied abroad, joined the Peace  Corps, traveled internationally for work and, like myself, lived abroad. These experiences made us different travelers. Our mothers would be both scared for us and proud.

Boomers expect to see icons: Ponte Vecchio, Eiffel Tower, Vatican.  But we welcome insights even prickly or dark ones.
