The Women’s Travel Group hopes these easy spa vacation tips remove the fear.

Arrive at a reasonable hour even if you need to leave home very early.

Some spas are really resorts with a few facilities. Ask how many treatment rooms the resort has and how many staffers.  Does the manicurist also do facials; if so, this is not a true spa.

Have a goal; a goal helps you schedule properly with priorities. i.e.: weight loss. stress reduction, relaxation? Without a goal, you might feel your stay was un-memorable.

Figure out how fast you walk so when you join a spa walk you know your level. Ask if the walk has a guide for the slow walkers? Fast walkers?

Before you pack, ask about laundry and prices, so you don’t over pack.

Leggings and spandex shorts are easy to pack and to wash in your room.

If you are scared of spas, don't use the ball. Instructors will offer an alternative.
Pilates Ball,

Do carry some exercise clothes on the plane and wear your sneakers. Sneakers are hard to replace.

Do not overindulge immediately on fresh salad, fruits or high fiber foods.

Bring minimum make-up and no jewelry; most spas are very casual. Spas are not a fashion show.

Try one new class. Do not be embarrassed to walk out.

Know your skin allergies then try new spa services.

Remember to drink lots of water.

Never look at the other people in a class; you are there for yourself not to compete. No one really cares what you look like or exercise like. Everyone is there for themselves.
