To Walk or Not To Walk, that is the travel question
How much walking do our trips have? Can anyone participate in Argentina or others?
Most www.womenstravelgroup.com trips include some walking, but women should ask the following questions when they eye a trip:
1. How much in length and/or time? A slow walk over a short distance like in a walking tour might be hard on the back also. While we are walking, feel free to ask for a place to sit or a minute if you need to regroup or retie your laces or your brain.…

How To Complain
We inspect all our hotels but if you go on a trip and are unhappy, here is how we suggest you complain:
1. Get an authority figure from the hotel, not the desk clerk, and if need be wait there until someone shows.
2. Get their card and make sure they are in fact a manager.
3. Ask them to sit down away from the desk, which makes you an equal and makes this a business meeting.
4. Describe your issue, enhance with photos you took or timing you noted ( like a pillow from housekeeping took from 8:30 PM until 9:11 PM, the detail is convincing.… -
Our group is different from Other Women's Tours
The Women’s Travel Group believes that a smart investment in travel should not include: tourist shopping, too much free time, or itineraries which are short to make them look cheaper.

Don't Lose FF Mileage: Another Tip
On many trips, our tickets are written in the destination and are given to you when we arrive. On our last trip to Ethiopia, we had 4 domestic flights on the excellent Ethiopian Airlines. We found that without the part of the ticket kept by gate staff, we were unable to get ff credit on the Star Alliance Group. On our Argentina Trip August 2013 we will again have domestic flights……
Here is our tip: photograph the full paper boarding pass before you board and before the ticket is torn by gate staff.…

Back from Ethiopia with WTGroup
Each year we offer one super adventurous trip for both our women and a few men. This year it was Ethi opia. Attached are some of the photos of the tribal South near the Sudanese border. The trip was totally safe, Ethiopia is a Christian and Tribal country with an excellent airline, clean simple lodging, lots of spaghetti. Wildlife, tribes, mountains, early churches, Jewish history. Its a wow.

Airline Taxes and More
Today Joe Sharkey of The Times discusses the rise in airline taxes. He mentions the cost of jet fuel, almost 50% up since January 2010. Another contributor is the lower dollar: as the dollar drops, taxes in foreign currencies rise. For instance, lets assume that your ticket to London includes a British airport security or construction tax in Pounds. If the dollar falls, and the Pound rises, your taxes will rise and so will the cost of your all in ticket.…

5 Best Clothing Items for Layering: our Argentina trip will take in 2 climates.
Since many trips take in more than one climate, here are a few tips for layering when the need arises.
1. Good tights, not cotton but get a mix of rayon and lycra.
2. Long sleeved silk or nylon body-hugging shirt.
3. North Face or other puffy jacket with pockets inside and out. I prefer black.
4. Cheap scarf: $5 on a Manhattan street corner!
5. One pair of pants a size too large so you can fit the tights underneath them.…
