The Women's Travel Group Fitness on the Road Tips
Some of these tips are from a ‘Times’ article. Hotel room exercises include:
lunges, squats, with the use of the hotel iron as an arm weight. Use the chair to stretch your back and waist by twisting and holding onto the opposite sides. The bed makes a good bar for triceps push ups and soft sit ups. Even if you hate exercise, do some stretching in bed after a long flight. The move onto to floor with a towel as a matt, and continue with your stretches.… -
What We Learned at The New York Times Travel Show
Women want smarter tours. They told us that free time, shopping with the guide, cooking and hobby type classes are not what they want to pay $$ for in a tour. We learned that many former Women’s Travel Club members miss our type of quality vacation and that the word is spreading.
We realized that our Yunnan tour was not geographically understood. Yunnan is North of Nepal and West of Burma, fyi. It is minority, tribal and Himalayan China, a trip for the second time visit to China.…

At the SITA World Tours Booth. Just back with 22 women from Ixtapan Spa, lots of interest in our new trips and in reunions with fellow travelers from our Club days. Here is me with a mouth full of guacamole at our farewell party and a necklace from a China trip with Women’s Travel Club, our first incarnation.…

2. Do the tours contain the words: ‘ceremony, lesson, museum and private visit‘? It is a good sign if they do.
3. The word ‘options‘: many options means you have under budgeted your vacation.… -

Thewomenstravelgroup.com tip to check flights, when uncertainties prevail
We all know how to call the airline or look on the web. But say your arrival airport might be closed for snow or strikes? Here is a way to check the status. Go to any flight tracking site, enter the flight arrivals same day from your destination airport. Example: flying to London on Dec. 20 with possible JFK handlers strike. Check flight arrivals on Dec. 20 into JFK to see if flights are landing on time and on schedule. This way you will get a real time accurate picture of the situation.…

Trying new Destinations?Traveling Tips for Women
Going somewhere new? Ask female staff on the plane about the destination and do it while they are not too busy. Check into English language newspapers on line for information. An example would be Times of India on line if you were coming to India with us in November to the Pushkar Fair. Or locate a chapter of your organization and ask for assistance. Examples: Rotary? Your college alumnae book? An American professor on sabbatical?
Do your research creatively and ask us for help with more suggestions for out of the way places.…

Frequent Flier Miles at Thewomenstravelgroup.com
With the news that Delta has acquired a large stake in Virgin Atlantic Airways, we are again assuring you that you may use FF miles on most of our trips. In some out of the way locales, we advise against it. Our experience is: FF tickets have been turned down for both the flight booked and for a substitute flight if there is a last minute change. We will forewarn you in those cases.
Note on Delta to Mexico for those coming to Ixtapan Spa with us this winter: great movies and passable cookies are FREE.…
