I was happily seated in Business Class 6J on a Paris to New York flight. (PS it is boringly old aged but I get on the plane, as soon as the cabin is called). Starting in 2024, travelers who currently do not need a visa for the EU will require a new document called ETIAS. US and Canadian citizens do not need a visa for the EU. (There are exceptional unusual circumstances for a denial like criminal record). Visitors are limited to 3 month stays for tourism, business and transit purposes. Street names emphasize our mutual friendship dating from before the American Revolution and continuing today: Rue Benjamin Franklin, Avenue Franklin, Avenue du President Kennedy.

Today I started packing for Europe: specifically England, Italy and Switzerland. Although packing is no big deal for me, many women asked for my ‘system’. There are no fancy gadgets, no newly acquired clothes. There is no $1,000 cashmere scarf, which travel magazine writers tout as an airplane coverup.
