Morocco books and trips
This book merits a blog post. Besides the scenery from films like Lawrence of Arabia, filmed in Morocco There is one weird and wonderful book to read. The Sheltering Sky by Paul Bowles.
Morocco sits on the doorstep of Europe, West Africa and the Atlantic route to the Americas. It’s position and natural scenery make it exotic yet close to North American shores. Morocco is the perfect first travel experience to a non-European area. We say this because while scenery and sites are exotic, language is French, roads modern, souks welcoming and bursting with bargains, and hotels/food to our standards.…

Women are still scared of hotel showers!
I still hesitate when pulling that hotel shower curtain across my face. Despite the fact that Psycho was filmed over 40 years ago,the knifing in the shower scene still terrifies me.

Womens' travel statistics and review sites.
Statistically women do more research than men for choices on travel. But research is hard to find for more exotic travel. So after reading the brochures (If any), women will go behind the scenes to get the ‘skinny’.
Where do we go? We use review sites. Love them or hate them, statistically review sites are used by women more than men. We rely on Tripadvisor,Yelp, Chowhound, Trivago, Hotels.com and others.

How to Tell if a Travel Review is Fake
Headline news today about the NY Attorney General going after companies that create fake reviews on Yelp, TripAdvisor and such. Who knew these companies were out there?
When you look at reviews, assess the following:
Do they all use the same vocabulary?
And the same themes?
Are they all generic on-line names?
Were all the reviews flooded in on the same days?
Do you see bad grammar or poor spelling, especially if either of these is repeated in more than one review?… -
Singles Tours Vs. Solo Tours for Women
Why do readers and travel agents refer to us as a ‘singles’ group? Some of us are married and some single but we are SOLO travelers. There is still an old fashioned idea that women who travel solo must be single. Travel agents who contact us always ask if this is a group for ‘single women! Could it be that married women who are looking for a trip do not actually use agents? …
