River cruises offer the ease of moving with non stop scenery. Ancient cities were built around their rivers; therefore, many important buildings face today’s rivers. For instance, from the Seine in Paris, you see the Louvre (formerly the Royal Palace), the Orsay Museum (formerly the majestic train station), Notre Dame, now partially reopened after the fire and the Eiffel Tower in its Champ de Mars Park. You sail past medieval Left Bank mansions and under ornate 19c bridges.
We dock daily to visit highlights. In Paris and on the Seine we visit: the most famous town in Normandy: gorgeous Honfleur, Les Andelys with its 12 century Richard the Lion Hearted castle, medieval Rouen and its famous cathedral painted 28 times by Monet. Vernon’s quaint streets and Monet’s famous house and flower filled Japanese Garden. We have 2 days in Paris, one with a half day tour and a full second day. We arrange pre and post extra days; you will definitely want to add time in Paris.
