Rest up two weeks before your trip. Do not leave a wreck.
Pack only essentials. Leave home any item you love. Not worrying about losing or leaving possessions is a relief.
Get to the airport extra early; find a quiet seat even if not at your gate. Regroup with a book or game.

At the hotel, again do simple stretches and walk around the hotel area to wake yourself up.
Skip dinner one night when you need a long sleep; it is better to miss out on a dinner you paid for than to wooze through your sightseeing.
Finally, before you depart, rearrange your suitcase: laundry on bottom/purchases next hidden from anyone who might open your cases/ finally what you need the last days on top.
