Study a map and figure out where you are. Paris has obvious landmarks: Eiffel Tower, the river etc. The Tower changes lights often.
Use the ATM for Euros and to know asap your ATM card works. There are 45+ ATM’s in the airport also.
Ask of a cafe has free wifi. Sit down with a cup of coffee to cut jet lag. Coffee at the cafe bar is cheaper than in outdoor seating. Black coffee is American or Filtre pronounced filtray. With milk, you want ‘cafe creme’.
If you did not do this before leaving, do it now: read some English language e-zines. Major newspapers like Le Monde under French Delights have English versions on line.
Pick up one of the pamphlets which list events, exhibits, concerts. Paris is English friendly. These are found in hotel lobbies.
Our Paris tour is inclusive; if you are not on it. Buy skip the line tickets to busy sites: the Eiffel Tower is the busiest. Consider quick tickets for the Louvre, Orsay, Fondation Louis Vuitton and Orangerie (Monet’s Water lillies). (Museums usually have free wifi, bathrooms and restaurants. You can plan around needing a toilet or free phone connection.
