 Who Are We?
Our Founder was recently honored by Group Travel Magazine as

The Women's Travel Group consists of women traveling together who will not wait for friends. Our ages and backgrounds vary. We are married and single; some 'in the process'. Our glue is a desire to see the 'other side of the moon'. We travel in small groups, along smart itineraries, avoiding tourist traps and bus tour restaurants.  We are never a group within a big coed group, except on a small ship river cruise.

Our itineraries are for active women, who walk in a normal day. We require well paced days, not 'vacations that leave you needing vacations'. We include meals with local specialties. We stay in 4-5 star hotels with lots of amenities. We are value-conscious, never stingy. We often include unusual yet significant sightseeing.

Many women come alone; therefore, we provide a list of everyone to our travelers. Some women have friends from our long history. Many women use our room share arrangements to save on the single supplement, others prefer a single. Most travel coach, some upgrade. Generally women dress casually. From the orientation night, until the farewell dinner, you will have growing friendships. We function as a women's travel club without dues.

We use professional guides who respect women and our needs. We sometimes invite speakers with local insights. Our itineraries include unique experiences:  a famous yogi performing for us, visiting a Malay home in Capetown, or attending an ancient parade in Sicily and meeting a human rights activist in Ethiopia. We provide a reading list, helpful hints, and local information. Every request is a priority. No question is foolish.

A personal note:

Travel is my passion and an outlet for life's little bumps.  When I finally had the time and money to travel, I could not find friends who could make up their minds. My husband loved his career. Tired of waiting, I founded what is now a community of traveling women. My thanks to all of you is right here at www.thewomenstravegroup.com.
